All artwork submitted to the contest will be displayed at the Youth Center during Hometown Days.
Prizewinners will be announced at Hometown Days, Saturday May 20 at 11:30 am on the grassy field stage. Winners will be called ahead of time. Prizes will be awarded in the following categories:
- Ryan Greco Memorial Grand Prize ………. $150
- 1st Place ………. $75
- 2nd Place ………. $50
- 3rd Place ………. $40
- 4th Place ………. $30
- 5th Place ………. $20
Eligibility: 6th – 8th grade students enrolled in a school located in San Carlos or a 6th – 8th grade San Carlos resident.
Art will be collected at the following schools from Apr. 24 – May 5, 2017. Please drop off art work in the school office.
- Central Middle School
- Charter Learning Center
- Tierra Linda Middle School
- St. Charles
All artwork will be returned to school offices the week after Hometown Days
Artwork: Any type of art created by an eligible student no bigger than 12” x 18”.
Artwork mounted on paper with a border 1-2 inches larger than 12” x 18” is acceptable. Work on canvas or cloth is acceptable. Framed work is acceptable; frames may get scratched during transport. (Please contact Kelly Bravo at email@example.com) for any questions or size exception requests.)
Students may submit up to two pieces, only one piece can win a prize.
Acceptable mediums: oil paint, acrylic, watercolor, tempera, chalk pastel, pen & ink, charcoal, oil pastel, colored pencil, collage, fiber, and digital art (submission must be printed, not electronically submitted).
Entry Form: Students will need to fill out an entry form at the collection site. Student’s work must have their name on the back. Missing forms and work with no names will not be judged.
Judging: Judges will be an impartial group of volunteers who have experience with children’s art in San Carlos.
