Plans are underway for our HOMETOWN DAYS festival in
Burton Park. The dates for vendors are May 17 and 18, 2008. This festive
weekend is packed with a great variety of events with displays, food,
games, a parade, beer booth,
wine tasting and a steak BBQ on Saturday. Events
continue on Sunday with a Fun Run and pancake breakfast. The public enjoys
this annual event and you'll surely want to be part of this experience.
After applications are mailed in February, spaces in the Arts
and Crafts area sell out quickly. Paid applicants will be placed on
one of the approximately 38 numbered spaces that are located on the lawn area.
These are suited for regulation size tents and tables, 10' x 10'.
1. Residents of San Carlos who wish to sell and Art or Craft work that they
themselves have created. The cost of
entry for this group will be $100.
2. Non San Carlos Residents who wish to sell Art or Craft work that
they themselves have created. The cost on
entry for this group will be
$120.
3. Anyone who is selling Crafts that they did not create but were
made by another artist of craftsman
(for instance Zulu baskets, Bolivian
hand
knitted ponchos, Indonesian batik dresses). We do NOT be accept
entrants
for jewelry in this category. The committee is going to be very selective
and will only assign 10 spaces
to this group. If you feel you have been
mistakenly assigned to this group you will need to prove to the
Committee
that you yourself made the items you plan to sell. Several of the past
participants do fall into this
group and will be given first choice for
these spaces should they still wish to join us. The cost on entry for this
group
will be $150.
The Steering Committee has established
the following guidelines that have proven to be helpful in organizing
this event.
1. Approximately 40 entrants who send payment and are
accepted are guaranteed a space assuming our rules are met.
Other entries
will be placed on a waiting list, in the order received, should there be
cancellations.
2. Items for sale are to be HANDMADE or HAND EMBELLISHED
(such as the decoration of a blank sweat shirt or the
stringing of beads,
painting of furniture). Replicas of weapons/handguns with flying projectiles
are prohibited.
3. In order to leave a walk space for shoppers, tables
and tents should not exceed 10 feet. For this reason, the spaces
will
be numbered on our layout sheet and vendors will be placed accordingly.
4.
NO OVERNIGHT STORAGE IS AVAILABLE.
Entrants are responsible for displaying,
pricing and selling their wares.
5. The numbered spaces will
be available at 7:00 am
on Saturday, May 17. NO
EARLY SETUPS ARE ALLOWED.
A committee member will be present
on the lawn to assign you a
numbered space. This will be your display
space/area
for both days.
6. Participants will do their own CLEAN-UP. Each
year
the arts and crafts participants
have done a great job.
7. All booths are set up by 10am
each day and remain open until
5pm on Saturday
and 4pm on Sunday.
8. Register for this event by filling
out the enclosed form or by completing the
downloadable Web site form
(www.SanCarlosHomeTownDays.com).
We DO NOT accept reservations by phone. The vendors
fees are for the two
days,
Saturday and Sunday, Fees are non-refundable. Cut off for application,
should spaces still be
available, is April 20.
9. It is the policy of the San Carlos Hometown
Days Committee to require participants to carry there
own insurance to ensure that each entrant is completely
safe from individual liability. These short-term policies may be
obtained
from you insurance agent.
